The Development Center for Future Leaders, Inc., in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry-Philippine Trade Training Center and the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship-Go Negosyo, acknowledges the significance of Barangays in fostering economic growth and development. Hence, an effort to empower barangays through entrepreneurship is translated through the Negosyo Sa Barangay Entrepreneurship Development Training.

Due to its role as the country’s fundamental political unit, the barangay has a constant potential for development efforts. And entrepreneurship is the ideal vehicle to help it make meaningful and notable contributions to nation-building. After more than 2 years of battling coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the initiative continues to support the neighborhood’s entrepreneurship.

On August 29, 2022, the 8th Negosyo sa Barangay Entrepreneurship Development Training was held in Cebu City. Various participants were invited, particularly Presidents and Officials of the Liga ng mga Barangay, and Barangay Chairmen, Kagawads, Secretaries, and Treasurers. 

In line with this, Aiko Reyes, COO and Co-founder of  Peddlr  , was one of the resource speakers in this event. This gave her an opportunity to share her experiences of becoming a successful entrepreneur.

Indeed, this nationwide initiative is a great opportunity to enable Barangays all over the country. And to promote entrepreneurship in respective communities to spur grassroots development.
